Dimitris Kountouras’s Lecture and Flute Recital

The soloist of historical flutes specializing in early music performance practice, Dimitris Kountouras, is invited on Monday, November 4th to the Department of Music Studies of Aristotle University Thessaloniki.
Mr Kountouras, PhD on historical musicology from the Athens University and founder of the “Ex Silentio” ensemble, gives a lecture on musical performance and historical performance practice focusing on the instrumental develompent of the flute from the Renaissance to the Classik era.
During his recital, Mr. Kountouras presents copies of rare old flutes and introduces repertory for flute solo in a time span of two centuries. After the recital he will answer audience’s questions.
