The application “Maqam / Makam – Mode” is a didactic tool which presents basic characteristics of modal systems belonging to four musical traditions: Arabic, Turkish, Byzantine and Greek Urban Folklore. It will be presented by Anastassia Zachariadou, the creator of the app. The presentation takes place in the series of events organized by the Lab for Greek Folk and Byzantine Music of the School of Music Studies of the A.U.Th.
