Coordination: Kostas Chardas
The Chamber Music Ensembles consist of students attending one or more semesters of the relevant chamber music courses at undergraduate level. Their aim is a practice-based exploration of the collective, collaborative dimension of classical music performance. Their repertoire comprises music for small ensembles, ranging from the Baroque to the 21st century. Through their participation in the ensembles, students are encouraged to explore different aesthetic and practical facets of musical interpretation: how does the meaning of group performance change according to different historical periods, and how can the practice of ensemble playing remain fresh and relevant today?
