16th Interdepartmental Conference of the Hellenic Musicological Society (Thessaloniki, November 8-10, 2024)

The five departments of music and musicology in Greek universities, namely the Departments/Schools of Music Studies at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Ionian University, University of Ioannina, as well as the Department of Music Science and Art at the University of Macedonia, are collaborating for the sixteenth consecutive year in organizing the established and highly successful annual musicology conference under the auspices of the Hellenic Musicological Society.

This year’s conference is hosted in Thessaloniki, with the organization undertaken by the School of Music Studies at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the Department of Music Science and Art at the University of Macedonia. Under the general title “Commemorative Musical Reflections, Analytical Perspectives, and Critical Reconsiderations” and on the occasion of the commemorative year 2024: Giacomo Puccini (1858-1924), Anton Bruckner (1824-1896), Luigi Nono (1924-1990), Arnold Schönberg (1874-1951), Bedřich Smetana (1824-1884), the conference proceedings will take place from Friday, November 8 to Sunday, November 10, 2023, at venues of the University of Macedonia and Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
