Flute Family Fusion Concert

Contemporary Music Lab, in collaboration with the Vafopouleio Cultural Center, presents a concert titled “Flute Family Fusion” featuring the flute duo a2nd, Zacharias Tarpagkos & Ana Chifu. The concert will take place on December 12, 2024, at 8:00 PM in the concert hall of Vafopouleio (Vafopoulou 3, Thessaloniki).
The concert will showcase contemporary music works for the flute family by young composers Koutsoumpidis, Lazarou, Boyatzis, Oikonoméas, Sakalis, and Typaldou. “Flute Family Fusion” aims to challenge conventional boundaries by presenting modern compositions that expand the possibilities of what flute music can entail. These works have been created to explore various combinations of flutes, highlighting the diverse timbres and potentials within the family of flutes.
It is important to note that the concert is free for the public, reflecting the commitment to making contemporary music accessible to all members of the community. This initiative serves to promote cultural engagement and appreciation of contemporary compositions while fostering a deeper understanding of the flute’s role in modern music.
