Recital for voice and oud in works by Iranian composers

This concert will feature works by contemporary Iranian composers Kasri Faridi, Vahid Verdi, Sepideh Yaftian and Mehdi Jalali written for electronics, soprano, and oud. Two of the works in this concert by Sepideh Yaftian and Vahid Verdi were selected in 2020 at the Tehran International Electronic Music Festival – Reza Korourian Prize in Iran , organized by Yarava Music Group.

Mehdi Jalali’s work Aphrodite was written for Off borders festival in Thessaloniki and since its presentation in that festival it has been performed many times in different countries and festivals. The Fence and Zoodobaal are new pieces by Kasra Faridi. Zoodobaal, which was written for electronics, soprano and oud.

This concert was performed in Tehran in September 2023 and will be presented for the second time at the Department of Music Studies of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
