Workshop for Composition and Interpetation

The Contemporary Music Lab (CML) of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in cooperation with Goethe Institut Thessaloniki organizes a Workshop for Composition and Interpetation of Contemporary Music on 15–16 October 2023 that will take place at the Goethe Institut. At the workshop two prominent German musicians, namely, Johana Greulich (soprano) and Nina Janssen-Deinzer (clarinets) participate.
Commissions have been given to six young composers (students of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the University of Macedonia) to compose works for the specific duet. The compositions have been written out of the cooperation of the composers with the musicians. The rehearsals that will take place on Sunday 15 and Monday 16 October (12:00-15:00) will have the format of a workshop and be open to the public.
The final concert presentation of the compositions will take place at the conference hall of Goethe Institut on Monday evening (20:00).
The workshop is free of any charges and addressed to the composers and instrumentalists of Thessaloniki.
